What Is Wrong Now:

• Almost 50% Tax increase in 5 years
• Midnight teacher contract approval and inadequate taxpayer representation
• Out of control spending and over hiring
• Unproven experimental curricula
• Administration allowed to dictate school board decisions
• Dubious reporting of fiscal and academic matters
• Ill-prepared graduates
• Board arrogance to public concern
• Downplay of poor SAT scores
• Measuring academic success mostly with PSSA scores
• Fordham Institute gives PA standards a D rating

Our Corrective Action Plan:

• Spending and cost controls that minimize taxes without jeopardizing programs
• Ensure taxpayers are adequately represented when negotiating teacher contracts
• Understandable, full and honest disclosure of accounting and budget reports
• Use proven curricula - Stop using your children as "guinea pigs" (i.e. Integrated Math)
• Identify and fix Problems - not hide them
• Truthful and unbiased reporting of academic scores against high standards
• Public-friendly board that takes your concerns seriously with a more liberal public comment policy
• Academic Success
• Ensure our students are competitive nationally & worldwide, not just in PA
• Surpass PA standards -
• Greater emphasis on raising SAT performance
